Week 13 -- Bionics and Our Biophysical Future

• Would you support the development of a “bionic” person? -- I would except that I am sure the military industrial complex would use this for a means for power and control and violence not for peace or to help people. I remember the cartoon 'Bionic 6' which was a family of 6 that had special 'bionic' powers that they used to help the planet. Maybe the bionic person could do things like have super brain power so we could perfect solar technology and super lungs so we could clean the air pollution. That would be really cool.

• How would you rate “the control of artificial limbs by thought alone”-- This is really cool. being able to decode the brain wave activity and transduce it into meaningful signals would be incredible. But again, hopefully it can be used for peaceful activities and not war situations. Also, this is another example of the externalized ability of the human which has been long since forgotten in the age of the machine. But still very cool. A little scary with regard to military applications but still pretty cool.
  

Week 11 -- Energy Fields and Energy Medicine

• Acupuncture as effective energy medicine-- I feel that the system of Acupuncture gives us a way into the realm of intention with a grid structure to work with. Many practitioners will state that the intention is the most important thing and that many times they don't even use acupuncture points in their treatments. Having the system of Acu. is a great way to ground one's energy and intention into a network in the human body to help bring balance on all levels and then even to move individuals into greater states of health, clarity, and well being.
  

• What conclusions can you draw from Kirlian photography?-- Kirilian photography shows us that there are energies that we can not see....at least for most people most of the time. There is a world beyond the veil that may have major interaction with the world we normally exist in and interact with. Through interacting and working with this facet of ourselves we can create change in the 'normal' world within which we work, though there is no separation only the conscious awareness of what we are and how much I can integrate into my awareness
  
• Human intent as it affects health-- Human intent is hugely impactful on health. The mind complex is housed ( or at least grounded) in the brain. The brain is part of the central nervous system. The central nervous system sends and receives signals from the peripheral nervous system. The peripheral aspect wires the entire body -- muscles, organs, glands, etc. If there are vibrations of well being eminating from my mind to my brain to my nerves to my body, there will be an effect. Whether the vibrations are positive or negative in effect depends on their frequency and that is determined by what thoughts are being transmitted by the brain , and produced by the mind. Now, most thoughts we think don't make it into the conscious mind but they are still occurring and are still being transmitted through our system. But they do not have the power of our focused intention behind them. By injecting our intention to power a thought it gains enormous strength and therefore more impact. By refining our minds through focused intent we can gain more precision on our projected thoughts thus making them more powerful and effective. This can be applied to anything including health. While the power of intention is very strong and intimately connected to thought our efforts in the world also add up to intent and will benefit our mental intention. Balance and integrated approaches can be very effective.
  

Week 10 -- Life and Living Systems

• I know I’m a “living system” because…….
• Biophysics and Oriental Medicine

• I know I'm a living system because.............. A living system has been defined this way: "nonrandom accumulations of matter-energy in physical space-time organized into interacting, interrelated subsystems or components" . Now, I don't think that it is a requirement that this system exist in spacetime, because we do not understand our universe enough to make that restriction. There very well could be lifeforms that can exist perfectly well outside our dimension of space time or that exist across different dimensions of spacetimes. But I like the rest of the definitions of living systems. I know that my system utilizes energy of various types, information from both the internal and external environments, and matter. My system also organizes these components into an organized and adaptive system. Thus I am a living system.
• Have we been able to find Qi yet? No. We haven't been able to explain how we or this universe came into existence either. And yet, here we are. If we were to say that because we cannot test for it means that it doesn't exist then we should accept that we don't exist either. This may be harder to prove than the existence of a force of energy that isn't picked up by the instruments of technology that we currently have. With a greater understanding of the energy fields that give rise to consciousness and the more physical substances we shall come to understand scientifically what has been known for thousands of years by the masters of great sensitivity and wisdom and insight into the secrets of the universe

Week 9 -- Towards a New Synthesis

• My E-Prime Day - describe your day, only using English Prime -- It seemed to be a bright beautiful to my eyes as I felt the warm feeling sun on my body, which was covered by clothes and maybe interfering with the actual warmth of the sun rays. I walked to the corner relatively slowly for my normal pace and stopped to look at an appearingly unhappy person who looked like an old man to me. Everything seemed ok to my observations in the immediate vicinity so I continued on with my travels toward where the grass seemed greener to my eyes.

• Can I synthesize East and West? -- Yes. At this point in time we are at a cross roads in the knowledge of humanity. We are seeing and experiencing the integration of eastern and western philosophies, technologies and societies. East and West are but one. As all things have come from one source there is an inseparability that is clear and outstanding when one can halt the prejudice of the mind and allow the ever flowing oneness to flow. Once one is able to stop the acquired prejudices of the mind the imaginary walls, which are held by the mind and create the illusion of separateness, vanish and the congruency and harmony manifests to that individual as an ever present, and all inclusive, dance. There is a balance to the universe which has no option but to be maintained. This equilibrium, the Tao, is in perfect balance and at the same time absolutely polarized. We see this in the approach to the world in our East vs. West theory. The "West" is very external, material driven, and mental. The "East" is very internal, spirit oriented, and subtle. These are merely poles of the same event. Just as a magnetic field has a positive and a negative. It is all just a matter of perspective.
  

Week 8 -- Sir Newton and His 3 Laws

• Newton’s Three Laws and me --- I have pondered these laws for years now and have always been intrigued by the forces of nature. Nowadays I am especially interested in the 3rd law-- for every action there is a reaction equal and opposite. This is known as the Law of Karma. every act we do has an effect in the universe and affects ourselves as well, for we will have to live out the reaction, equal and opposite sooner or later. Whether or not it happens within our memory's time or not. Many times people think of Karma as being good or bad yet it is a very neutral force that does not take sides or has any prejudice. Just as a scale will weigh feathers and sand the same, the force of karma can only bring balance. It is an order of the universe which has been, is, and will be. Like gravity's pull, its reach is infinite. It all comes back one way or another, sooner or later, in absolute balance. Please, be kind :)
  

• Our “Energy Efficient” Culture -- Our culture is so far from being energy efficient. We have auto corporations that fight efficiency regulations so that the cars burn more fuel so that the oil companies can make more profit. Like they need more profit. There is too much profit in energy and thus the idea from a sales point of view is to have the consumer buy and use as much as possible and profit profit profit. Much of the energy efficient things we see these days aren't even that great. They are just another marketing scam. Was it GE or Maytag that recently got fined because their 'energy star' refrigerators were not meeting the standards required to be 'energy star'. Hopefully we will all jump on the solar train and apply our technology with an elevated mind that we may utilize the vast energy sources around and not control it will force and corruption.
  

• Descartes has a lot to answer for!--- Reduce. Reduce. Reduce. Des Cartes did his job in a line of scientists searching to understand the universe we live in. As we need chaos to expand consciouness and then the need exists to give that expansion a framework or foundation on which to exist on. This is what reductionism has done in my eyes. It has been given us an enhanced ability to go outwards. As far out as we may go we must also go equally far inwards. Newtons 3rd law must be maintained. The scales must be in balance. We now have been able to venture into the quantum field through the world of substance and matter. That is quite a feat!!
  

Week 7 -- Chaos Theory

• “Ordered chaos” – does this sound familiar?
• Fractals as patterns of complex systems
• Consciousness out of chaos?

• My room has mostly been a great example of ordered chaos. To many people (mostly meaning my mother) it was very chaotic while I could find everything quite well. The term 'Ordered Chaos' is very interesting in that it is like an oxymoron from a western perspective yet makes perfect sense from an eastern position. The Yang within the yin or yon within the yang. Harmony and balance in the midst of constant change. The beautiful dance of the universe, the creativity of creation. As things grow, so must they die (transform). From death comes new life and new more complex systems. The seasons don't fear the reaper so we might as well enjoy the ride.
• Fractals are really cool to watch on video and can really put one into a semi-altered state. The parallels between fractals patterns and say that of an atom to the solar system are very interesting. It leans on the idea of the holographic universe in which even the tiniest piece of the universe contains the code for the entire universe. Just as every cell of a living being contains the coding for the whole being. ---DNA---. I am thinking that the univeres's DNA may look like a fractal pattern and may take more colors or dimensions to get all the coding right.
• Consciousness out of Chaos---If the OM was pure consciousness and all things existed together as one, we may assume that in that absoluteness there was a bit of chaos. From the expansion into what we call reality we may deduce that the OM came into being to experience. This experience has developed consciousness and has from that consciousness began a refinement process until all things merge back into absoluteness again in one way or another. The OM is of course the doer and maker and is contained within the creation and is inseparable from any aspect of the creation for the creation is made of OM. This idea can be explained through these words : " Tudh aapay srist sabh upaa-ee jee, tudh aapay siraj sabh go-ee." -- You Yourself created the entire universe, and having fashioned it, You Yourself shall transform it all.

Week 6 -- Vibrations

• If we are to maintain that vibrations are the basis for all existence in our universe and the many plausible universes in the inter-universal system of infinity then from my personal perspective of enjoying life and the experience that it affords me, then yes, all vibrations are good vibrations. Regardless of my possible immediate reaction to the effect of that vibration in the immediate acoustic environment of spacetime.
  
• Resonance in world makes and takes many forms and synergistic causality. The subtleties of the universe can be known and felt far beyond the normally perceived and accepted limits of time. Resonance is my guide. Resonance is my teacher. Resonance is my best defense. Resonance is my interaction with everyone and everything. Resonance is nurturer of my intuition. Resonance is the light guiding my excellence. Resonance is the line on which I walk toward infinity. Resonance is sharp as a knife. Resonance makes my way unique. Resonance is the radiance in the void. Resonance is when there is not.
• Qi gives birth to energy and energy gives flexibility to qi. Qi is energy on the verge of becoming matter and matter on the verge of becoming energy. Qi fills the space between the particle and wave and is particle and it is wave. Pertaining to the vernacular of the individual these forces may be the same or they may be quite different. Regardless, we seem to need them both.
  

Week 5 --Symmetry & Sacred Geometry

• Symmetry at a first thought seems to be rather direct and understandable without having to twist the mind too much. We just tend to see that events are balanced on both sides of an occurrence and that systems have balance and that behaviors of particles follow certain rules regardless of location, time or spacial orientation. In reading Stephen hawking's Book, "UNiverse in a Nutshell" I came across some particles that require two complete revolutions for them to look the same. this has to do with their spin. Particles with spin 1 look the same when you spin them 360 degrees around. With a spin of 2, 180 degrees will have the particle looking the same and with a spin of 3 it would take less thsn 180 degrees. This I think we can easily understand. But to try to imagine that for some particles it would take two complete revolutions for it to look the same is definitely a mind bender for me. Particles requiring 720 degrees are said to have spin of 1/2. Then it talks about Supersymmetry which incorporates extra dimensions into space time ,called Grassman dimensions. This theory led to the theories of Supergravity which talks about Fermions and Bosons and the balance of charge of these types of particles.
• CP violation....After reading the info about CPT and understanding that it has to do with radioactive decay, I am sure that I do not understand it fully. C= charge P=parity T=time . Charge Parity Violation means that a particle with a certain charge and spin moving in one direction of time breaks with the theorem of symmetry under certain conditions. Here it is shown that a kaon particle will only decay moving in one direction of time and will not in another direction. The kaon's decay rate changed inder this reversal and hence violated the CPT. The kaon decay rate is accepted as a distinguishing factor in past versus future. This CP violation only seems to happen in dealing with the neutral kaon decay and not with substances like uranium,thorium, radon, and so forth. These substances decay in dependent of time's direction while the neutral kaon decay is dependent upon the direction of time.
• Sacred geometry and physics most definitely have connections. The ancients were very aware of the power of geometry and the power of the shapes of nature. Now, with our technology we are beginning to see the depth of connection the ancients had we are starting to remember and integrate these teachings and practices. One great example is the Golden Mean. From rabbit population growth, to sunflower seed arrangements, to the human body rations, to the spiral. The development of this ratio with regard to fractal, weather systems and many other things along with the connection between mathematical concepts and our world have become to be known as Chaos theory. As we begin to understand more about our universe and the subtle and tiny things that are happening, and as our mental consciousness begins to unfold to allow for 'super-reality' events to be commonplace, and as our science learns more to support these events, we shall move into a new horizon of consciousness substantiated with observation and integrated with experience. It is here that we will begin to understand our interconnectedness and experience our oneness. This is when we will begin to achieve peace on the planet. May we all be so blessed as to experience this within ourselves. Sat Nam.
  

Week 4 Assignments -- Energy Matter & the Four Forces

• E=MCsquared! This equation and what it represents have definitely played a large part in the way I view the world and how I approach understanding this universe and of my interaction with the universe. To know that the speed of light is so fundamental a force that all things we generally understand to have substance/mass are related to it and that they are in actuality just energy in another state. Just as water readily changes into ice or steam. This has helped me to keep perspective in the world by remembering that all things are transient and in a constant state of change. This is true both in the physical world and also in the underlying reality upon which this universe sits. My creativity has been upheld as has my creative spirit to know that the static, unchanging and rigid world that had been taught to me in my youth is not actually so. And that my inner light has a "weird" world in which it may thrive.
• The four forces are really incredible. How they work just so perfectly that the universe works! Whoever the clock maker was on this one really thought it thru before he set the gears in motion! Electromagnetism is known mainly as light or magnetism and those are mostly accepted as being different things though they are the same force...cool! Gravity is cool because this way we can walk to work without flying off to outerspace in a grand flurry of unmitigated movement. Gravity's reach is infinite as is the electromagnetic forces' yet electromagnetism can be cancelled out while gravity will keep on working no matter what. Gravity has infinite reach and always works but is the weakest ( or shall we say the most subtle - which is a very powerful thing too). The strong nuclear force is 10000000000000000000000000000000000000 times stronger than gravity but only has influence on the area of the atomic nucleus and the subatomic particles in there. The weak nuclear force is responsible for radioactive decay and works only on the area in the immediate proximity of the atomic nucleus and has two bascin particles that are big and sluggish...relatively speaking, of course.
• Gravity's function seems to be to keep the accumulations of matter near each other and to keep the universe from spreading itself out too thin too fast. It wouldn't be very fun or interesting if life forms didn't have a chance to develop into higher cognitive levels and quest for the many varying interesting secrets and intrigues the universe has to offer.
  

Week 3-- Synchronicity + Connectivity

• Synchronicity is a very interesting occurrence and does not cease to interest me even after being aware of it for many years. Yet the question I have to ask is, "How does one use this occurrence to expand the benefit for all humanity and is it 'ok' to do so?" I have been getting past the latter part of the question which has enabled me to find comfort in the synchronicity of my life at a level that is allowing me to capitalize on the synchronicity that I may serve the peace within myself and hence increase the total peace on the planet. Some examples of this are reaching for my phone as someone is calling me, or reminding my wife to leave the Muni pass as she is walking out of the house with it when it is her day to take the car, or receiving an email from a certain company that I was just thinking about that never had my email to begin with....that one was weird!! These types of events seem to be synchronicity on a smaller orbit while if we were to take a larger perspective on our lives and the happenings of our lives we would surely see that there are larger scale events that are also synchronistic. Yet this would require of us an ability to move beyond our normal scope of awareness into a realm larger and probably more 'weird'.

• Connectivity is, well, as it sounds, the connectedness of things. More specifically, the connectedness of all things, seen and unseen, heard and unheard, known and unknown. This idea is more true for some than it is others and is more experienced by some than it is by others. Of the numerous ways to explain connectivity one way to see it is to understand that the universe came from one teeny tiny dot of infinite density and then-- Big Bang -- thus we have differentiation and variety and the existence of us, humans. From this perspective there is really no denying that we are all connected as we are all made out of basically the same stardust and have probably shared many molecules with many other people by now just through our breathing not to mention the unseen energetic connections we share. These connections are interesting too and are more known by some than by others. Some call these connections 'radiant pranic chords' which extend from the navel of individuals to the navel of others. These chords connect us all to a certain degree but we can develop stronger bonds with people we interact with more or have deeper connections to whether from this lifetime of not. The energy passing through these chords are not restricted by the confines of timespace but can transmit information instantly from one end of the universe to the other. This is another way to explain connectivity.
  

Week 2 Assignments

Uncertainty--
I think that we can certainly say that there is nothing more certain than uncertainty. I find it to be a most fascinating subject that in a world ( the western minded world) where everything must be able to be calculated to a definition the farthest most advanced science is telling us that we cannot know everything and actually the more we know about something the less we truly know about it. How beautifully eastern of the universe to throw that curve ball in there. This is what we know now. IN ten, or twenty or 500 years we may figure out some more advanced calculations that can give us a better glimpse at how the quantum world works with a more comprehensive understanding of the universe and how it works.....but not right now!!

Causality & Weirdness--
Causality is a fun subject. I have definitely experienced it before and dedicate much of my time to refining my relationship to causality. In some circles it is also known as intuition, the individual, personal experience of causality. I have found that it is better to go with the flow of this effect rather than to try and ignore it and pretend that it wasn't happening or that I am not worthy of using this information that has reached me before occurring in the physical space of the world. I have also found it to be true that it can save a lot of time and help uplift myself and others by going with my intuitive impulses as opposed to not. So one may ask, "what is it that allows for the seemingly instantaneous occurrences of this causality". It does seem that these occurrences move faster than the speed of light, for this type of information can traverse the span of the universe in zero time. So we may be dealing with some type of superstring theory that does not exist on our 3D model of the universe. If we remember that the universe all started form the same point and that point expanded in all directions, I think that it helps us to see that all points are the center of the universe. This may help us to comprehend a different shape and texture and dimension the universe has and may help us to grasp how information can occur at oppisite ends of the universe simultaneously. The UNiverse is absolutely weird. Thank God for that one. How boring would it be if it were plain?#%@? The more I think about it, it keeps on getting weirder too.LOL. Perfect visual for this is the Cheshire cat from Alice and Wonderland. Have fun :)

Relfections on Frist Day of Class

I enjoyed hearing everyone's story and the interesting paths we have taken to end up at AIMC. So many paths crossing and becoming somewhat parallel for some time. And conversations about time! How cool. I love pondering the limits of the universe. That is the universe as I know it. It is a spark of so much creativity and freedom of thought. I enjoyed the group sessions where we can learn form each other and communicate. I am sure that the course will be mind opening and universe expanding.

The Meaning of Time

Time can take on so many different meanings depending on one's present state of mentality or emotionality. It can be a threat to one who has a fast approaching deadline. It may be a barrier to someone who is awaiting the coming of a specific time or date. It may be a luxury to a student on vacation. It can even be a punishment for someone who has received a jail sentence. In this line of thought, time can mean an infinite number of things relative to the one who is experiencing the time. And now, a bit more conceptual but even more factual and possibly very relevant if applied, the relativity of time through space...or shall we say timespace. Time has been proven to be relative as applied at very high velocities. Space has been proven to bend and warp around bodies of great mass. While we earthlings for the most part are totally unaware of these naturally occurring phenomena. Not only are they phenomena but they are basic rules and structures that govern the way the universe which we exist in works. And not only do they govern how things work in this universe but they if can be understood and remembered could easily alter the meaning of time for an individual. Intstead of just being a way to know when to be at work or school or when to get the next train, time could be seen as a remarkably flexible, maleable and impressionable aspect of our experience.....given that we have a proper understanding of how it works and how we interact with it. The question is, do we have the time to come to such an understanding and would we be able to accept it if we did??

• I am attracted to TCM because it is an effective system to help the individual live a life of health and longevity on all levels. It also is great at helping people to cure illness and pain relief. I have also found that it can be used on more etheric levels such as to keep the chakras open and harmonious as well as to benefit meditation practices. I think it will most definitely benefit the planet and the life inhabitting the earth as we all increase our living awareness and our awareness of living things.
• I think physics is really cool. Espcailly the theoretical aspects. The math behind it is beyond me but I am appreciate the strength and groundedness that suppporting concepts wth mathematical analysis provides.This helps to integrate concepts into mainstream acceptance when they are outside the box...and many...actually most people prefer the comfort of inside the box. Physics is hleping to explain the fundamental pieces of the universe which is totally rad, especially when it breaks the status quo of how the universe 'works'!! Ilove it!!!
• Time speeds up and slows down on me constantly. I am amazed at how muchn it can change. i am excited to hopefully learn about some theories of why this happens and also why does time seem to move faster as we grow older.......? Crazyness!!! Now only if there was a way to conquer time...would that also mean that there is a way to conquer space as well with time and space being one?????? And what does cause the time to move faster or slower? Or is it just a game of the mind?
